Alexandra Serrano


Alexandra is no stranger to the north and the south of Ecuador because she was born in Riobamba and raised in Cañar and Cuenca. She holds a B.S. in International Business from Emanuel College and MBA from the University of Phoenix. She worked as an intern for the late Senator Kennedy helping resolve issues raised by minority communities and then moved to the project management field managing multi-million dollar federal construction projects. Because of her passion for both business and helping minorities, Alexandra decided to become an entrepreneur and is currently the proud owner of a minority and women owned construction company serving the federal and commercial markets.

Monica Crespo

Vice President

Monica was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She obtained her Clinical Psychologist degree from Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil and worked within the field of Human Resources. Upon moving to the United States, she obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College and later became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the state of Massachusetts. For the last 15 years, Monica has been working for non-profit organizations providing psychotherapy services to individuals that suffer from mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Monica has passion for helping others, snorkeling, and spending time with her family.

Maria Eugenia Nyren


A native of Quito, and now living in Bellingham, Mass., Maria obtained her B.A. from Universidad Central del Ecuador. Her background includes international sales and marketing in the medical industry, project management and technical translations in the computer industry, and regulatory and compliance in the biotechnology industry. Maria currently manages the intake part of the Product Events Program at Genzyme Corp. Maria has one son, Vincent, who obtained his B.A. in Communications at Boston College, and currently works as systems analyst at Genzyme.

Maria del Rocio Tacuri


Born in Cuenca, Ecuador; Rocio obtained a degree in Hospitality Management and Tourism from Universidad del Azuay. After a 7 year career promoting tourism in the South of Ecuador, Rocio decided it was time to change the scenery and moved to Boston where she received her B.S. in Finance and Accounting and her M.S. in Project Management from Northeastern University. She currently works as operations and logistics coordinator for Sauces ‘n Love Inc. a specialty food manufacturer based in Lynn, Mass. Rocio enjoys outdoors activities, dancing, Boston’s sports, live music, and Ecuadorian food.
